Maria Camila Garcia specialised in international development and policy analysis during her studies at the Hertie School. She joined the Hertie School as a scholarship holder under the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Helmut-Schmidt-Programme. She also holds a Master in Arts in Economics, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Economics, from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. Her professional experience includes working as a Research Fellow for the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC, a Professional Year with the German development agency GIZ supporting the private sector development department and working for a law firm in Bogotá. Finally, during her studies she worked as a Project Assistant for the think tank adelphi in Berlin.
