Maximilian Gercke specialised in foreign and security policy during his studies at the Hertie School. While completing an exchange semester at the George Washington University in Washington DC, he focused on early warning, stabilisation and peacebuilding. He gained professional experience in both the public and private sector: working on security issues at BwConsulting – the in-house consultancy of the German Bundeswehr and as an intern in the risk advisory department of Deloitte Deutschland; as well as working on legal issues at the international law firm White & Case, as a law tutor at Universität Hamburg and while assisting the Chair of the Institute of Law and Economics. He is now pursuing a career in conflict management and peacebuilding.
