Paul Kurreck specialised in international security and development in his Master of International Affairs at the Hertie School, and had a particular focus on peacekeeping, state-building and defense policy. Paul spent his semester abroad at Fudan University in Shanghai, where he had a chance to dive deeper into Chinese politics and military affairs. Prior to joining the Hertie School, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Geography at Freie Universität Berlin, focusing on political geography and climate issues. During his studies, Paul worked as a student assistant at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in the communications department. He has also completed internships in public relations and communications at two environmental NGOs, the Forum Ökologisch-Soziale Marktwirtschaft (FÖS) and CRCLR.
