Sahra Abukar holds a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from the University of Maastricht. At the Hertie School, she studied international affairs, specialising in security studies as well as energy and climate policies. During her Professional Year, Sahra worked as an assistant to a parliamentary state secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Defence. Her other professional experience includes internships at Deutsche Bank, the Hessian Ministry of Justice and non-profit organisations. During her master’s studies, she worked as a part-time parliamentary assistant at the German Bundestag, where she focused on defence policy as well as European Union affairs. Sahra is particularly interested in opportunities in public administration, diplomacy and foreign affairs at the European and national level.
