Yannik Simstich specialised in climate and energy policy as well as policy analysis during his studies at the Hertie School. Before that, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin and spent two semesters at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. His professional experience includes internships at the environmental NGO Green Budget Germany and public relations agency Hill+Knowlton Strategies. He also worked as a student assistant for the German Energy Agency (dena) and the German Offshore Wind Energy Foundation. During his time at the Hertie School, Yannik completed a Professional Year at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, where he worked on international energy and climate cooperation.
