Stefanie Mavrakou has worked in the field of security, defence and diplomacy both in the private and the public sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Cambridge. At the Hertie School, she studied International Affairs, focusing on security, trade and diplomacy. Stefanie spent her Professional Year working at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the United Nations (UN). As part of her master’s thesis research, she interviewed high-ranking NATO officials, including former Deputy Secretary General, Rose Gottemoeller, and former Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Gen. Knud Bartels. During her studies, Valens Global, a Washington DC-based security consulting company, recruited Stefanie as their European Union Associate.
