Syed Tanveer Ahmed did his Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School and completed his degree with a focus on two areas – communication policies and technology policy – as well as on understanding the nexus between these two fields, as evidenced by his master’s thesis topic. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Arts in Sociology. He has worked professionally as a consultant, first in human resources and then as a political consultant. He has also played a part in two electoral campaign victories. With his new-found interest in tech policy, Tanveer worked alongside his studies with Capgemini in Germany in the European Policy Team, where he dealt with the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the public sector, focusing on the use of AI in automating processes and detecting anomalies to help improve the delivery of public services.
