Colette Beukman spent two years gaining work experience in organisations such as Amnesty International and the Dutch Council for Refugees, as well as co-founding an NGO working with renewable energy in Northern Tanzania before starting at the Hertie School. She holds a BA in International Relations from Amsterdam University College with a semester abroad at Bilkent University in Ankara. She studied international affairs at the Hertie School, specialising in finance and trade, and worked part-time at enpact e.v., an organisation supporting start-ups in the MENA region through mentoring programs. Her interests lie in climate change and social justice and reform. She is a founding member of the Hertie Social Response and helped organise the global public policy conference in 2016.
