Rita Alvarez Martinez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidade de Vigo and a Master’s degree in Economic Analysis from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. At the Hertie School, she studied public policy with a specialisation in policy analysis. She has worked as a senior research assistant at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington, D.C. and as a research manager at J-Pal in Mexico. Rita has experience in programme and policy impact evaluation and in implementing randomised control trials. While at the Hertie School, Rita helped organise the European Public Policy Conference and has worked at the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW). Her main interests are labour market and educational policies and regional development.
