Frédérique Hanotier is the Director and the founder of the Human Rights Cities Network. Her focus is on expanding knowledge and good practices in implementing human rights in cities in Europe and beyond. She researches human rights as part of city development with a special interest in promoting peace in urban settings. For 20 years, she worked in EU external relations as a human rights policy advisor, in Europe and in five EU Delegations in Africa, Asia and the Western Balkans. Frédérique gained expertise in programme management in human rights and governance, including in conflict transformation and sustainable urban development. She is an accredited mediator specialising in multi-track peace mediation on peacebuilding and development cooperation. She holds two master's degrees, in european politics and in human resources management and dynamic of organisations, as well as a bachelor's in political science with a specialisation in international relations and human rights.
