Sharon Johnnette Wettlaufer joins the Hertie School's Executive Education team as Project Coordinator, bringing along her combined extensive experience in diplomacy, international relations and multilateral affairs, government relations, education, and public diplomacy in advising, developing and structuring unique and tailor-made executive programmes.
She holds a master's degree in Educational Administration from the Ateneo de Manila University, a master's degree in Public Management from Potsdam University and a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Prior to joining the Hertie School, she was a career Foreign Service Officer. As a former diplomat, she served at the Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva. Given her professional experience, she has a very good understanding of the challenges in the public sector and in multilateral affairs, having worked with senior leaders, particulary with the UN Office für Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA), UN Office of the High Commisioner for Refugees (UNHCR), International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFCR), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD), to name a few.
