German Foundations Scholarship

What is it?

Stipend holders of the German "Begabtenförderungswerke" and members of the Hertie Foundation's fellows & friends programme, are guaranteed at least a 25% scholarship upon admission to the Master of Public PolicyMaster of International Affairs or Master of Data Science for Public Policy programmes (deadline: 1 May).

Applicants who are stipend holders or members of the following organisations and programmes can apply:

 

If students become stipend holders of the German Begabtenförderungswerke during their first year of studies, the 25% reduction of the tuition fees can only be granted for the second year of studies.
Student who become fellows & friends (Hertie-Stiftung) members after joining the Hertie School are not eligible for this partial scholarship.

How to apply

Along with the rest of their application documents, applicants for the German Foundation Scholarship should upload:

  • a copy of their stipend certificate ("German Begabtenförderungswerke")
  • proof of membership in fellows & friends, e.g. a previous stipend certificate (Hertie Foundation's fellows & friends)

If the stipend certificate is not available at the time of your application it must be submitted to the Admissions Team to grad-admissions@hertie-school.org before 1 September at the latest.
