With the Sustainability Colloquium Series, we aim at fostering analysis and international debate on climate, energy and sustainability policy. The Colloquia will be an opportunity for Hertie students as well as fellow researchers to engage with the most impactful thinkers in sustainability research. The Sustainability Colloquium takes place online on quarterly basis and is addressed to Hertie students as well as the research community established around the Hertie School Centre for Sustainability.

During fireside chats our Centre researchers have conversations with leading energy and climate professionals on pressing policy problems. Fireside chats are one-hour online events open to the Hertie community.

The d\carb Future Economy Forum was founded by Master's and PhD students interested in climate policy at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), Berlin's Freie Universität, Technische Universität, and Humboldt University, as well as the Hertie School, Oxford University, SOAS University of London and Harvard University. We stand for scientifically informed critical debates; plural and accessible to the general public. We want to drive change towards more sustainable business in Germany, Europe and beyond.

The European Public Policy Conference (EPPC) is a unique initiative that empowers public policy students to take a leading role in shaping the debate on critical European policy issues. This fully student-run event is sponsored by the IPLI Foundation and organized by the students of the Hertie School in Berlin. Thanks to a highly interactive format, the EPPC provides an unparalleled opportunity for future policymakers to engage with prominent political leaders and experts, and to address the pressing challenges that Europe faces in the twenty-first century. For every edition of the EPPC, students are responsible for all aspects of the event, including creating the conference concept, inviting speakers, and selecting the city where the EPPC is held.

We host a weekly, internal Sustainability Research Seminar (SRS) for researchers at the Hertie School who are working on climate policy, energy policy, AI and climate change, and other sustainability-related topics. The seminar offers researchers the chance to share and workshop their ideas with one another. Masters' students at the Hertie School are invited to attend the SRS. If you would like to join the SRS mailing list, please contact Jenny Shirar, Centre Manager. We also host public Sustainability Colloquia with guest speakers. These sessions are published on our events page.
