Maria holds a degree in International Business and Management from the Hanze University in Groningen and the Auckland University of Technology. She completed her Masters degree in European Studies at the University of Bath, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Humboldt University.

The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.
