Ignas Bruder is a postdoctoral researcher at Hertie School, Berlin. He is involved in the research project REBALANCE scrutinizing the relationship between democracy and capitalism. In this project he contributes to researching to what extent social enterprises and other alternative forms of organizing contribute to the reproduction of democracy in the economy and society. Prior Ignas worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Management at Freie Universität Berlin, where he also received his degree in 2020. Ignas is an organizing member of the inter-disciplinary Practice Theory Consortium.
In his research Ignas draws from theories of practice and critical ethics scholarship to focus on normativity in daily organizational life as well as in academic discourses. Beyond his interest in social enterprises and democracy, Ignas is intrigued by different forms of prefigurative organizing as well as organizational (un)sustainability in times of the climate crisis.
