Duncan Edmondson is a postdoctoral researcher at the Hertie School, part of the sustainability team, working with Prof Christian Flachsland. Duncan’s research is part of Ariadne, and is focussed on policy mix design rationales for the Energiewende. Additional research activities are centred around sustainable buildings, the policy mixes implemented towards stimulating innovation in the building sector, and institutions involved in the policymaking process. Before joining Hertie, Duncan was based at the University of Sussex, where he completed a PhD on Science and Technology Policy. His research focussed on the co-evolution of policy mixes and socio-technical systems, policymaking processes, policy feedback, and empirically, the UK sustainable building sector. At Sussex, he also taught on several modules including: energy policy, governance of energy transitions, innovation for sustainability, and policy analysis.
