Sebastian Gallander is managing director of the nebenan.de-foundation – the social venture of the digital start-up company nebenan.de. He first completed his community service year in a senior citizens’ centre and then studied communications in Berlin and Seattle. Thereafter, he started working as consultant for strategy and political communication at an international creative agency. Following his first professional years, he won a Harvard University fellowship which enabled him to pursue a Master in Public Administration (MPA) at the Kennedy School of Government. Upon graduation, he returned to Berlin to join the philanthropic foundation of the international telecommunications company Vodafone in Germany which he eventually lead as managing director before transitioning to the nebenan.de-foundation.
