Franziska Holz is a Senior Researcher in energy economics at DIW Berlin, the Berlin-based German Institute for Economic Research. She studied economics in Paris and holds a master's degree in international and development economics from Paris I University Panthéon-Sorbonne. She obtained her PhD in energy economics from TU Berlin in 2009. She has been at DIW Berlin since 2004 where she leads a research group on energy resource markets. She was a visiting fellow at the University of Maryland, Virginia Tech, Stanford University and NTNU Trondheim. Her research interests include supply security, infrastructure requirements and climate change impacts in energy resource markets (natural gas, coal, oil).
