Marcelo Marques is a postdoctoral researcher at the Hertie School. He holds degrees from the University of Lisbon and the University of Luxembourg. He was also a visiting researcher at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France and at Brunel University, England. Marcelo works on transnational governance and Europeanisation processes in the field of education. In particular, he is interested in comparative institutional and organisational analyses to understand institutional change in higher education and research policies. Recent publications by Marques appeared in Higher Education, Higher Education Policy and the European Educational Research Journal. His most recent co-authored book is "European Educational Research (Re)Constructed: Institutional Change in Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway and the European Union" (Oxford Symposium Books). He works in close collaboration with Professor Lukas Graf in the Educational Governance Team.
