Marielle Düh is a PhD candidate at the Center for Digital Governance at the Hertie School. She is also part of the research group "Politics of Digitalization" at the WZB, where she contributes to the ClaimSov project on digital sovereignty, conducted in collaboration with the CNRS in Paris and the Université de Montréal.

Her research takes a comparative approach, investigating the two distinct approaches by which China and the European Union pursue digital sovereignty. She has a specific interest in the role artificial intelligence technologies play within these pursuits.

She holds a BA in China Studies from the University of Vienna and an MA in Big Data in Culture and Society from King's College London. She previously worked at re:publica and the Goethe-Institut in Beijing.
