Luis Mejía is Academic Counsellor for graduate students at the Hertie School. Previously, Luis worked as postdoctoral researcher associated to the Office of the President, as well as a research skills & methods instructor in the MPP, MIA and EMPA programs at the Hertie School. Luis research agenda focused on the study of regulatory politics, the governance of regulatory agencies, and political accountability. He holds a PhD in Governance from the Hertie School; an MSc in Political Economy from the University of Essex, and a BA in Political Science from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico (ITAM). Previous to pursuing his PhD, Luis worked as policy analyst at the Mexican Federal Competition and Energy Regulatory Commissions, as well as the National Council for Evaluation of Social Development Policy (Coneval). In the private sector, Luis collaborated as political analyst at CNN Mexico-Grupo Expansion, as research associate for the think tank Mexico Evalua, and as communications manager at the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham-Mexico).
