Luis Mejia is Academic Counsellor at the Hertie School in Berlin, supporting graduate students from the MPP, MIA, MDS & EMPA programmes. As a Counsellor, he collaborates with the Office of the Dean of Graduate Programmes to foster the academic performance of Hertie students. As of his work as postdoctoral researcher, Luis’ research agenda focuses on the study of the accountability of the regulatory state and the governance of regulatory agencies worldwide. Luis holds a PhD in Governance from the Hertie School; a MSc in Political Economy from the University of Essex, and a BA in Political Science from ITAM (Mexico). Previous to pursuing his PhD, Luis worked as policy analyst at the Mexican Federal Competition and Energy Regulatory Commissions, as well as the National Council for Evaluation of Social Development Policy (Coneval). In the private sector, Luis collaborated as political analyst at CNN Mexico-Grupo Expansion, as research associate for the think tank Mexico Evalua, and as communications manager at the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham-Mexico).
