Raffaele Sgarlato is a PhD candidate and research associate for the Sustainable Energy Transitions Laboratory project (SENTINEL). His research covers the field of energy market economics and, in particular, power market modeling. Currently, he is focusing on artificial intelligence and machine learning methods applied to power market models. Raffaele worked for three years at Aurora Energy Research in Berlin, most recently as technical lead. He holds a Master of Industrial Engineering and Management from Technische Universität Berlin and a bachelor's degree from the University of Catania. During his studies, he worked at Energy Brainpool, at MVV Energie and Hella New Zealand.
