Gregor Walter-Drop holds Masters Degrees from the State University of New York and from Tübingen University and he passed his PhD in Political Science at the University of Bremen. Subsequently, he worked in the start-up team of the Hertie School and it developed its curriculum. Gregor moved on to an Assistant Professorship at Freie Universität Berlin in 2006. Since 2010 he has been serving as Managing Director of the Collaborative Research Center 700 "Governance in Areas of Limited Statehood" hosted at Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2014 he directs the Center for Area Studies at Freie Universität. Gregor has specialized in International Relations and has published and taught in the fields of globalization, governance, limited statehood and foreign policy analysis.
