Sofia Diogo Mateus is a class on 2019 Master of public policy candidate at the Hertie School of Governance. In her spare time she is also a journalist and social media manager for Deutsche Welle. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from City University, London in Journalism, and a specialization degree in European Reporting from the Hogeschool Utrecht and the Danish School of Journalism, as well as two diplomas on International Media and Foreign Affairs from the London School of Economics.
She has a profound interest on the economic impact of globalisation on low-income communities, minorities, immigrants, as well the challenges facing refugees in the 21st century and above all, women’s issues. She believes in an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach to policy. Her passion for these issues tends to become more evident over a glass of wine.
