Hertie School: Michael Endres hands over Supervisory Board Chairmanship to John Feldmann

Berlin Senate honours Endres for long-standing engagement.

Berlin, 25 April 2012 – This week the co-founder and long-standing Chairman of the Hertie School’s Supervisory Board, Michael Endres, handed over his position to John Feldmann, former board member of BASF SE, who also succeeded Endres when he took office as Chairman of the Hertie Foundation at the turn of the year.

Under the leadership of Michael Endres, former board member of Deutsche Bank AG, the Hertie Foundation established the Hertie School in 2003, guiding and supporting the School’s development into the internationally-recognised institution of higher learning that it is today. As member of the Hertie School’s Board of Trustees Michael Endres will maintain a close affiliation with the School. Bernhard Wunderlin, former Managing Director of the Harald Quandt Holding GmbH, also retires from the Hertie School’s Board of Trustees after six years of dedicated membership.

This evening the Berlin State Secretary for Cultural Affairs, André Schmitz, will, in cooperation with the Hertie School, honour Michael Endres for his long-standing and fruitful engagement. Former Federal President, Horst Köhler, will deliver the honorific speech.  In addition to State Secretary, André Schmitz, former Minister President and honorary Chairman of the Hertie School Board of Trustees, Kurt Biedenkopf, Chairman of the Federal Labour Agency and Chairman of the Hertie School’s Board of Trustees, Frank-J. Weise, and the Hertie School’s Dean, Helmut K. Anheier will also contribute to the evening’s festivities with notes of thanks.
