Pamela Jiménez Cárdenas graduated with a dual degree from the Hertie School and the London School of Economics in 2017. Upon graduation, she worked as a trainee at the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva in the Protection of the Civilian Population Unit. She became a delegate and, after a first mission in Nigeria, is now based in Juba, South Sudan as a Community Based Protection and Humanitarian Mediation delegate. In her talk, Pamela will explain how she transitioned from international development to humanitarian aid and how she started her career in the field. She will talk about her responsibilities, the framework of working on a field mission, the challenges faced, and her objective to pursue policy work in the future.
